Carterton Primary School

Carterton Primary aims to provide a lifelong love of learning.
Providing a happy and secure environment for learning and growing in confidence.
Sharing a community that promotes success for everyone.

Welcome back to Beech Class and a Happy New Year.

The children worked incredibly hard last term, consolidating their learning from Term 1, and making progress towards the Year 1 objectives. This term we will be learning about Africa, finding out where it is in relation to the UK, with a focus on the animals and landscape of Kenya. In science, we will be learning about different animals and thinking about grouping them in different ways.

We will be focusing on reading this term, with homework being linked to reading, and work in class enthusing the children about books. There will be no maths homework.

Please see below for the MTP Overview for Term 3, the Class Timetable and the Home Learning Grid for Term 3.

A few things to remember:

Outdoor PE will be every Thursday and Indoor PE will be every Wednesday

PE kit should be in school every day.

Book bags should come to school every day.

Reading records will be checked every week.

If your child is going home with someone else, please inform one of the adults in the class.

Please do come and see me if you have any questions regarding your child.

Best wishes

Mrs Thrower (Beech Class Teacher)
