A Little Bit of Christmas Magic!

Festive Fun in Oak Class

Week 1 Term 2

We have really enjoyed celebrating Halloween this week!

We made spooky spells and creepy pictures using chalks. We practised counting pumpkins and recognising numbers and even cast a magic spell of our own to make sweets appear!

WEEK 1 Term 1

Well, we have come to the end of our first full week at school and what a week it has been!

The children have settled in wonderfully and the teachers are very proud of their positive attitudes towards learning.

We have been learning the story of The Three Little Pigs by telling the story without a book!

We drew story maps to illustrate our understanding of the story and have enjoyed role playing using masks and puppets. A Big Bad Wolf was even 'spotted' in our outdoor area!

We have also been talking about our families and counting how many people (or pigs!) are in a family. In phonics we have been exploring rhyme and trying to hear sounds in words to blend them together.

We are looking forward to having a bit of a rest over the weekend and beginning a new week on Monday. Well done everyone in Oak Class for a super first week at school!
