Welcome to Willow Class!
We hope you all enjoyed a lovely break and are ready for Term 4. The children worked incredibly hard last term, making progress towards the Year 1 objectives. This term we will be learning about cities, identifying cities around the world, exploring features of cities and finding out about London. In science, we will be learning about different plants, thinking about what they need to grow, and growing some plants ourselves.
We will be focusing on reading this term, with homework being linked to reading, and work in class enthusing the children about books.
A few things to remember:
Thank you for your support with the children's reading and home learning, it all helps to make a difference.
Mrs Beale and Mrs Taylor.
Please note that Mrs Beale teaches the class on Mondays and Tuesdays, and Mrs Taylor teaches the class from Wednesday to Friday, with the help of Mrs Lucas in the mornings, from Monday to Friday and Mrs Dunn in the afternoons, from Monday to Friday.
World Book Day - Thursday 7th March 2019
It was wonderful to see Willow Class dressed as their favourite book characters for the day. We had everything from the T-Rex from 'Harry and the Dinosaurs' to Mary Poppins! Thank you to all parents who supported the day by sourcing and making such fabulous costumes.
We ended a long and busy day with our annual 'Books at Bedtime' event. Families braved the rain to come and hear stories in the comfort of our PJ's and slippers. A comfy cushion, 'log fire', cookies and milk finished the day off nicely!
Here is a game of 'Where's Wally' for you to play at home.
