Welcome to Elm Class.

Hello our names are Mrs Harrison and Mrs Turner and we are the teachers in Elm Class. You will see Mrs Turner on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Mrs Harrison on Thursdays and Fridays.

We have been working at CPS for many years and been working together for over 5 years. CPS is a really special place to work as we love the enthusiasm and energy of the children who come come to our school.

I (Mrs Harrison) have 3 children at home and a tabby cat called Pippin. I like going on long walks and getting outside as much as possible. I am really looking forward to meeting you all and having lots of fun exploring with you.

I (Mrs Turner) have 2 children and a dog called Ted. My favourite colour is purple and I love chocolate cake. I am really looking forward to getting to know you all and playing together.

Other adults that work in our class are Miss Villar, Mrs Warnes and Mrs Gibbons.

In our class we learn through play and exploration. Children will have a range of activities set up for them that they can explore throughout the day both inside and outside. There is lots of time to build relationships with our friends as we climb, build, create and talk together.  We practise our letters and sounds each day as we learn to read and write.  We also explore numbers, counting and patterns each day, learning new things that we can then use in our play and activities.

Each day you need to bring a water bottle, a suitable coat and a bookbag to school.  We send home reading books and phonics sheets to practise at home with your family.  Phonics sheets come home each time we learn a new sound and reading books are changed each week.

We look forward to seeing you in Elm Class soon!

What we have been up so far in school!

Isolating at home?

If your child is needing to be at home due to Covid-19 please let us know.  There is a pack of activities below (and also on Google Classroom if you would prefer).  If you don't have access to a printer at home please just let us know and we will print out all of the activities for you.  We will also let you know the phonics sounds and number activities that we are doing in class during any missed days.  Keep us posted on anything you need and you can be sure we will help keep your child busy!
