Maple Class have had a great week learning all about the nutrients in different foods. We know that our bodies need different nutrients like fibre, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals, to stay healthy and we have found out which vitamins are in certain fruits and vegetables. We really enjoyed trying different fruit and veg including peppers, as part of Veg Power! In English we have been super writers and have written stories and diaries. We are focusing on improving all of the skills we need to be successful Year 3 writers such as: using fronted adverbials; using and punctuating speech correctly; using different types of conjunctions and most importantly - remembering to use capital letters and full stops in the right places! We have had a lovely time singing songs about different foods. We did particularly well singing in a round, which was great fun. We are looking forward to singing more songs next week.

Hello Maple Class, welcome to Term 5!
Mrs Beale will be in class on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Pendleton will be in class on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
The class will be supported by Mrs Dunn and Miss Scarfe.
We are really excited about starting Term 5 and are looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful work you will produce. Our topic is comparing Carterton and India. What do you know about Carterton? What do you know about India? How are they the same? How are they different?
Learning is Maple Class is focused around you as learners, becoming confident and independent and always striving for your best. We aim to provide exciting lessons that not only make you want to learn but also help you to develop new skills.
What to wear and bring to school:
All students should come to school in school uniform and with a school bag. You should have a named water bottle and a hat to wear as the weather gets warmer. On PE days you will need to come into school dressed in your PE kit, rather than in school uniform.
End of the day:
The school day ends at 3.10pm. The children will be released to an adult from the school playground. Please ensure the class teacher knows who your child is being picked up by, especially if this changes for any reason.
During lockdown and as the lockdown restrictions ease, communication is a little trickier than usual. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries or concerns. This can be done via the school office or by sending an email to one of us. Please see the email addresses on the contact page. We will aim to get back to you within 24 hours. For urgent enquiries, please contact the school office.
We look forward to seeing you in class soon!
