Hello! My name is Mrs Pugh and I am the teacher in Oak Class.
I have been working at Carterton Primary School for 5 years and I love the school because it is such a fun and caring place to be.
I have two children, two guinea pigs and a tabby and white cat called Poppadom. I love music and play the guitar, piano and flute. I love to sing and sing most of the time! My favourite colours are blue and lilac.
Other adults that work in Oak class are Mrs Radburn, Mrs Jeffrey and Mrs Harrison (who teaches in Elm Class too).
In our class we learn through play and exploration. Children will have a range of activities set up for them that they can explore throughout the day both inside and outside. There is lots of time to build relationships with our friends as we climb, build, create and talk together. We practise our letters and sounds each day as we learn to read and write. We also explore numbers, counting and patterns each day, learning new things that we can then use in our play and activities.
Each day you need to bring a water bottle, a suitable coat and a bookbag to school. We send home reading books and phonics sheets to practise at home with your family. Phonics sheets come home each time we learn a new sound and reading books are changed each week.
Isolating at home?
If your child is needing to be at home due to Covid-19 please let us know. There is a pack of activities and links to useful online learning resources on Google Classroom so do take a look there. If you don't have access to a printer at home please just let us know and we will print out all of the activities for you. We will also let you know the phonics sounds and number activities that we are doing in class during any missed days. Keep us posted on anything you need and you can be sure we will help keep your child busy!
