Welcome back to Term 2!

We hope that you all had a restful half term break.

Our new topic will be 'Explorers'. Please see the attached topic overview to give you a flavour of what Willow class will be learning about this term.

Thank you for all the brilliant entries to our 50 Point Challenge at the end of term 1. It was clear that the children (and you all as a family) had worked hard to complete and present your home learning in such imaginative ways. The children will be rewarded with a certificate at the start of this term.

Please see attached a copy of the new 50 Point Challenge for Term 2. A paper copy will be coming home with the children by the end of week 1.

The timetable remains the same as for Term 1 and is attached further down our class page should you need it.

Mrs Taylor

Travelling Book Fair, 10th and 11th October.

The Travelling Book Fair will be returning to Carterton Primary School next month and will be open after school to everybody on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th.  There will be a broad selection of books across a whole range of interests and subjects so come and have a look, you might find your favourite ever book! The Book Fair is really important to the school as for every book sold the school get 20% back to buy books for book corners and lessons.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Miss Blackie, English Lead.

Welcome to Willow Class!

We hope you all enjoyed a lovely summer break and are ready for Term 1.

We start the year with our topic 'All About Me'. We will be learning about what animals and their young need to survive, how to draw a self portrait, how to write labels, lists and captions inspired by the book 'Only One You', how to represent numbers and begin to understand place value in our number work as well as exploring friendships and responsibilities.

A few things to remember:

  • Outdoor PE will be every Wednesday and Indoor PE will be every Monday. PE kit should be in school everyday.

  • Book bags should come to school everyday.

  • Reading records will be checked every week.

  • Please read to and with your child as often as you can. This is very important to help them practice the skills we learn in phonics lessons, to improve fluency, and encourage a love of reading.

  • If your child is going home with someone else, please inform one of the adults in the class.

We look forward to meeting you.

Mrs Taylor and Mrs Wells

Please note that Mrs Wells teaches the class on Mondays and Tuesdays, and Mrs Taylor teaches the class from Wednesday to Friday, with the help of Mrs Woodham-Davies (Cover Supervisor) and Mrs Davis (Teaching Assistant)
