Welcome to Carterton Primary School!

I am proud to be the headteacher at Carterton Primary School and I am committed to ensuring that all children are given the best opportunities to learn well and to grow in self-confidence.

We aim to do the best for all the children who come to our school and it is a good place if you want your child to progress well.

We provide a safe and secure environment for every child where they can be happy and enjoy their learning.

We are committed to high standards in all areas of the school and we firmly believe in the importance of the key skills of reading, writing and mathematics.

We ensure that our curriculum is interesting and exciting for the pupils and that they know their next steps in their learning.

We aim to ensure that all pupils are successful and we provide regular opportunities to celebrate and value those successes.

The school serves the town of Carterton which has a large number of people who are members of the armed forces. RAF Brize Norton is one of the biggest bases in the country and over 40% of our children have parents who are working there.

Our school provides nurturing support for families and children, particularly if one of the parents is away on deployment with the RAF.

We cultivate positive attitudes in all our pupils and aim for respect and caring in all our activities and relationships.

We try to work closely with parents so that they understand what we are trying to achieve and so that we can work together to support their child's learning.

If you would like to visit the school or find out more please contact us through the school office.
